EXPERTISE
I am passionate about empowering young people and their families to become active participants in their journey toward recovery. I believe that collaboration and a trusting therapeutic relationship are key to achieving meaningful change. A thorough assessment and formulation of difficulties are essential first steps in the recovery process.

I completed my core psychiatry training and advanced child and adolescent psychiatry training through the St Mary’s training scheme in London after graduating from medical school in Egypt. With 15 years of experience in mental health within the NHS, I have been working as a consultant psychiatrist for the past five years and currently serve as the deputy medical lead at Hertfordshire Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust.

I have extensive expertise in the assessment and management of Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and a range of common and complex mental health conditions in children and adolescents, including anxiety, depression, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), psychosis, and bipolar affective disorder. My experience includes prescribing and monitoring medication to support these conditions effectively.

Additionally, I have experience working with individuals with intellectual disabilities and managing challenging behaviours. I have a deep understanding of how neurodiversity can influence mental health presentations and strive to provide tailored support that meets the unique needs of each young person.
